“China can’t solve the world’s problems” Jim Rogers told Bloomberg and added to that statement by saying “China is a wonderful and growing economy but it cannot pull the world out of the hole.”

Is Jim Rogers buying China?

Bloomberg reports Jim Rogers hasn’t bought any Chinese stocks since November as valuations are not attractive.

“I haven’t bought any Chinese stocks since November and haven’t sold anything either,” Rogers said. “I’m waiting for cheaper prices. I’m not buying Chinese shares at these levels.”

Rogers added he remains “extremely bullish” on agriculture and that “commodities are the only sector in the world where the fundamentals are improving.”

Financial Times investment editor John Authers interviewed Jim Rogers in Seoul, Korea to get his current view on the world economy, Obama, China, and the failures of regulators. Below are notes to the third part in which Jim covers China.

Notes:

Never sold China “A” share

Started buying China again in June/July, October, November

Wishes Chinese Government would run American economy

Memorable Quote:

” Selling China in 2008 would be like selling America in 1908, you might have looked good in the short tern, even fore a year or two but who cares, you would of looked like an idiot for the next 60 or 80 years.”
